Our Mission

Michael’s Mission is focused on improving the quality of life and treatment options for those suffering from colorectal cancer through education, research and patient support.

Michael’s Mission is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Funds raised go to patient care and support and research initiatives led by a medical advisory board comprised of leading physicians.

Michael’s Mission was formed as a way to honor and remember Michael Soussa. Michael was a vibrant young man when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at the age of 30. He underwent multiple surgeries and almost 40 months of chemotherapy and radiation. After nearly three and a half years of fighting, Michael passed away at the age of 33. His loss devastated his family, fiancée and friends, who created Michael’s Mission with the hope of honoring Michael’s legacy and helping other patients and families facing the diagnosis of colorectal cancer.

To learn more, please read a special tribute letter from our Co-Founders, Michael’s brother Scott Soussa and Michael’s fiancée Shana Auerbach.
